Charlie Brandts, the beekeeper at the White House in Washington, D. C., will speak atthe next Medina County Beekeeper’s meeting on Monday evening, May 17th, at 7:00 PM. The meeting will be at the A. I. Root Company’s Conference room at 623 W. Liberty Street in Medina, Ohio. Look for the large sign on the sidewalk next to the meeting room door. Parking is free and available on both sides of the street.
Charlie will discuss the public outreach programs he’s involved in from his position as the First Beekeeper, and relate a few tales of what it’s like to have the coolest beeyard in the world.
But Charlie is also involved in a local program to develop sustainable local queen breeding and is working with local queen producers and beekeepers while doing some queen production of his own to move the program along. The success rate of this program is encouraging, and Ohio beekeepers would profit from hearing how this program is operating.
The meeting is free and open to the public and beekeepers.
Please try and arrive by 6:30 if possible because even though this is a large room, we anticipate standing room only. There will be a raffle of beekeeping equipment donated by local equipment suppliers, and various beekeeping IPM tools available at club discount prices.
Refreshments will be available.
Membership in Medina Beekeepers is only $20.00 per year for a family.
